STUDIO & EQUIPMENT UPDATE
A Quarterly Newsletter

Volume 1, Issue 1 Fall 1993

Welcome
Welcome to the Chapman Studio & Equipment Update. Our
quarterly newsletter is the result of overwhelming feedback from our clientele. We
have decided to publish this newsletter to establish communication between Chapman and our
clients, keeping you posted on production events that develop. The Chapman Update
will keep you informed about our new technologies and maintenance tips to assure top
quality operation of your dollies and cranes. We will also cover the latest projects
Chapman Equipment has played an essential part in making.
New Products
FORMULA 2000 - Chapman's new and improved Hydraulic Oil, Formula
2000, is a new all weather synthetic oil for Chapman Hydraulic systems.
In-house testing proved Formula 2000 to maintain the hydraulic arm speed in cold
weather conditions and increase arm speed in warmer temperatures. Formula 2000 was
found to eliminate chattering and hissing that occur with other hydraulic oil formulas and
allows a smooth and quiet arm lift.
HYBRID II - The Hybrid II is the latest of the Hybrid line of dollies. This
dolly has all the features of the Hybrid as well as some important upgrades. The
Hybrid II now has a larger hydraulic tank to allow for greater lifting capabilities as
well as an improvement of placed components to reduce maintenance.
SUPER PEEWEE® II - The Super PeeWee II is the latest of the PeeWee line of
dollies. This dolly has all the features of the PeeWee II as well as some important
upgrades. The Super PeeWee II adds a 17 degree leg lock position to accommodate the
use of pneumatic tires, both on and off track. This 17 degree position allows the
narrowest possible width when using pneumatics. In addition, the Super PeeWee II has a
larger hydraulic tank for greater lifting capabilities and is nickel plated for simplified
maintenance.

LENNY ARM II & HY HY® BASE Pictured above is Chapman's
latest product, the Hy Hy base for crane and remote arm setups. This versatile piece
of equipment has variable chassis legs and variable tires, i.e., pneumatic, super soft and
hard tires with both standard and conventional steering. The Hy Hy base has the
ability to work on and off straight or curved track without tire change. The Hy Hy
base incorporates the unique feature of leveling the arm on uneven surfaces by simply
adjusting the post rod adjusters. Coupled with the Lenny Arm II in maximum length
configuration, this setup can obtain a height of 32' and reach of 34'.
Pictured is the setup for remote camera systems only. Note: Chapman now
carries Power Pod and Hot Head Remote Camera Systems. In addition, the Hy Hy
base is stable enough to hold 2 men in the manned configuration to achieve a maximum
height of 14'. The Hy Hy base's total weight is 260 lbs. which makes it light and
easy to transport. The Lenny Arm can be disassembled in sections for easy
transportation as well. Total space the Hy Hy base occupies in the 45 degree leg
position is 35" in width and 50" in length.
