1995 New Products

Chapman is proud to announce its Hustler Dollies now come equipped with built-in track wheels. The new wheels are "grooved," allowing the Hustler to be used both on track or on ground, without tire change. Each dolly contains a set of soft rubber wheels and a set of grooved wheels, which make it compatible to any surface. The Hustler track wheels work an all tubular and I-Beam straight tracks and save operator time. Another new feature is the Hustler Battery Tray. This allows the battery to be placed in a more efficient spot, closer to the camera. In addition, Chapman's Hustler II Dollies are now equipped with an improved valve, which increases the speed of up and down movement to two seconds. A new dolly accessory is Chapman's Open Mitchell Swing Head, which rotates 360 degrees around, capable of locking in any position. The new head can be used on any Chapman Dolly and also acts as a leveling device. Chapman has added its patented Universal Stop Valve to the Hybrid II Dolly. The valve, originally mounted on the PeeWee®, smooths the up/down motion of the arm and allows the operator to make precise camera stops at any position.

Chapman's Hybrid II Dollies are now retrofitted with the Universal Stop Valve, which allows stops at any chosen point.

Other new products are the innovative Stainless Steel Precision Tubular and Aluminum Precision Tubular Tracks. These tracks are available in 2, 4, 8, or 10 foot straight sections and in either 45 or 90 degree curves. Straight tracks scissor close for storage and both are interchangeable with each other, as well as, with the Single Rail Stainless Steel Precision Track. The Aluminum Track is Chapman's newest and fast becoming one of the most popular, because it helps develop a smooth and repeatable shot. In addition, it holds anything from Crab Dollies to Lenny Arms and is only one-third the weight of Stainless or Steel Track. Chapman introduces a new line of track, the Precision I-Beam Track, now available for rent. This track is extremely rigid and light weight (5.5 lbs. per foot and capable of holding up to 5,000 lbs. at two-foot centers). The I-Beam Track comes in both straight and curved track, (30 degree sections), while both straight and curved tracks scissor close for doorway applications and easy storage. The track has a twin pinning system which provides zero gap, zero deflection, no gaps and no bumps. The I-Beam works particularly well with long lens shots and telescoping sleepers allow it to expand up to 36.5 inches from center to center. Lengths from 2 feet to 10 feet are available.
