Los Angeles, CA--Over five hundred guests were on hand to celebrate Chapman / Leonard's 50th anniversary reception following the 12th annual ShowBiz Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center June 11.  Representatives from the Florida Film Commission, along with many Hollywood filmmakers, were present.  Some of the filmmakers to attend were NYPD Blue DP, Brian Reynolds, Murder One DP, Aaron Snyder, and top rated feature, Dumb and Dumber's Key Grip, Charles Smallwood.  Other attendees included various Chapman Equipment representatives from various parts of the world, such as, Tony Covell from Video Focus, England, R.A. "Tink" Minster from Logical Designs, South Africa, David Nichols from Leaping Dog, Australia, George Margolis from William F. White, Canada and Masa Yasumoto, representing Sanwa Cine from Japan, to name a few.  Bill Hines was present from the Society of Operating Cameramen Organization. Many from the Panavision group were in attendance.  Among the most notable Panavision guests present were, Phil Radin, (Exec. VP of Marketing), Tak Miyagishimi, (Sr. VP Engineering), Peter Schnitzler, (Panavision NY), and Jeff Allan, (Panavision England).  The event was a huge success as Chapman personnel had an opportunity to co-mingle with some of the biggest names and companies in the ever-growing, ever-changing world of entertainment.  It was also an appropriate place to celebrate Chapman / Leonard's 50 years of dedicated service to the movie industry.   "I know that my dad is smiling down on us right now," Leonard Chapman said, referring to his father, Ralph.  "And I'm sure he is proud of how far we have come."  Food, drinks, along with entertainment from magician, Jeff Bornstein, and music from Gregg Young and the 2nd Street Band, livened the festivities.
