1995 New Products

Chapman is proud to introduce its latest adjustable crane arm, the versatile Lenny Arm III.  The Lenny Arm III has a maximum reach of 44 1/2 feet and a maximum height of 43 feet. Its payload capacity comfortably carries a camera, turret, seats, cameraman, and an assistant up to 31 ft. 6 in. of height (27 ft.  9 in. of reach).  For remote camera applications, the Lenny Arm III can operate at heights up to 44 feet (reach 44 1/2 ft).  In addition, it has Power Pod and Hot Head Remote Camera Systems available to complement the Lenny Arm III, as well as, trained technicians at the customer's request.   The Lenny Arm III can be mounted on the ATB, Chapman's new electric power-driven base, to achieve its maximum configuration.    Another feature new to the Lenny Arm III is its patented Hand rails on each section of the arm.  This added feature increases the stability of the crane and makes it easier to carry and assemble.

Chapman also presents the Tow Dolly, which can be used with the recently introduced  Super Apollo Mobile Crane, to obtain moving car scenes from above, from the side, and in front of the moving vehicle.   The unique feature of the Tow Dolly is its tongue, which can be lengthened to 7'8" (2.34 m), allowing for a variety of vehicles and points of view.

Another new Chapman product is the CS Base, named after Vampire in Brooklyn Key Grip, Chuck Smallwood.  This innovative base is capable of carrying a Chapman remote or manned crane arm, such as the Lenny Plus and Lenny Arms II and III.  While its maximum payload is 3,400 lbs. (1,545 kg), it is lightweight for easy transportation.  The CS Base has a new "Quick Pin" Transmission, which permits either crab or conventional steering and a wide range of tires, including balloon tires, which allow the base to move with ease through all types of terrain.  Corrective steering, along with crabbing capabilities, enables the CS Base to be maneuvered smoothly into places other chassis cannot go.  Its unique built-in Bogie track wheels allow it to work on track without having to change the tires.  It also incorporates a time-saving Quick Release King Pin System, which allows quick and simple stabilizing and leveling by utilizing a Screw Jack System, and Quick Release Pins, that allow fast wheel removal and reduce the operating width to that of the track, 34 1/2" (880 mm).   It also comes equipped with a removable center post, tool box, and adjustable and removable track wheels.
