Orlando Studio & Production Center: Update

Crane
and Dolly workshop earns applause
Orlando, FL--More than
40 people from all over Florida attended a hands-on Crane and Dolly workshop at Chapman's
Studio and Production Center on Saturday, Sept. 9, covering a broad range of Chapman
equipment. During the four-hour workshop, the large group was divided into
smaller training units, which circulated the sound stage separately, gaining exposure to
specific equipment areas in 45 minute intervals.
Workshop stations were manned by Chapman staffers who provided an overview of each piece
of equipment, explained the changes in technology, demonstrated the features offered by
various models, and answered questions. Chapman staff agreed that rotating
smaller groups from station to station, offered participants more "hands-on"
opportunities and the workshop leaders more flexibility in dealing with the group's skill
level.
Workshop leaders included David Bullard, Ray Dettore, Steve Sabino, John Plvarnik, Kenny
Rivenbark, and Trent Brya. Many participants requested follow-up one-on-one
training, and Chapman staff is currently planning an intensive workshop for more advanced
operators. For more information, please contact Peg O'Keef at 407-851-FILM.

Pedolly®
Pedestals hit center court
Las Vegas, NV--Chapman's
Pedolly® Pedestals were on court to capture the Davis Cup, where the United States
defeated Sweden. The event featured No. 1-ranked, Andre Agassi, and 1995 U.S.Open
Champion, Pete Sampras versus Mats Wilander and Thomas Enqvist.
Two Pedolly® Pedestals were also used for Prime Sports' coverage of the Forum Tennis
challenge on Sept. 14, an exhibition match between Sampras and tennis great, John McEnroe.
The Pedolly's® sleek build, low camera mount height, swivel seat attachment, smooth
vertical moving column, and maneuverability make it an "ace" for following a 100
m.p.h. serve as it rockets across the court.
Special thanks to Producer, Bob Feller, Director, Jay Mullan, and Camera Operators, Bo
McWilliams, and skip Eppley, and ESPN's, Mike Kusama, for breaking new ground with our new
pedestal and dolly in one...the Pedolly®.
