Orchard Productions comes to the Orlando Stage

Orlando, FL--Orchard Productions journeyed south from their Chicago base to shoot financial mavens, William Mallers, Sr. (author of Trading Tactics of the Pros), William Mallers, Jr., and Walt Bressert in a First American spot on the Chapman / Leonard Stage.  This assemblage of financial experts are considered by many to have the inside track to success of the futures market.

In order to maximize limited time, production sought equipment support through the vendors housed at the Chapman Facility.  Lighting and grip was supplied by Coming Attractions Grip and Electric (with Proprietor, Tom Wheatley providing the services of gaffer), the Arri 16 SR3 High Speed camera came from Vaughn Broadcast, and the Super PeeWee® II Camera Dolly rolled out of the Chapman Shop.  "It's terrific to work at Chapman because everything you need is at your fingertips", comments Lori Turchin, Production Manager for the shoot.

Other January events at Chapman included a Miuzuno shoot with Means Street Production of Atlanta, an Ames Lawn and Garden spot produced by AFI, and an Avid training seminar with Pixel Logic of Key West.

For more information regarding the Chapman Equipment and Stage, as well as concerning vendors housed at the Chapman / Leonard Orlando Facility, please contact Leesa Halstead at (888) 337-8243.

Orlando Studio & Production Center / Miami Update

Chapman provides bi-coastal support to RSA:

Chapman / Leonard's East and West Coast Facilities joined forces recently to support RSA Films Ltd. of London during its recent Walt Disney World commercial shoot. Locations included Walt Disney World's Blizzard Beach, where grips rigged Chapman Orlando's Lenny Arm 2 Plus with Chapman L.A.'s Mega Mount, flown in, especially, for a 360 degree spinning shot handled by Technician, Scott Fischman.   Other Disney locations included Splash Mountain and the Grand Floridan Resort.   When RSA needed a stage, they used Chapman Orlando's Studio and promptly crated a Chromakey Green Universe on Chapman's immense curved cyc.  Asked about his opinion of Chapman's Equipment, Stage, and Service, Director, Jon Greernbalgh said, "It's terrific!"

Chapman Olympian gears up for Super Bowl:

Chapman's Olympian's and Sport ATB II's were in demand for TV coverage of 1997 college football bowl games.  The Olympian, which set the standard for excellence in sideline camera movement, and the popular, new Sport ATB both received unanimous praise from Turner Sports ESPN, Fox Sports, ABC Sports, NBC Sports, and CBS Sports, all of which praised Chapman's training, support, and beyond- the-call-of-duty safety features.  Next stop for the Olympian is the New Orleans Superdome for coverage of Super Bowl XXXI on January 26.

Chapman Workshop Features Super PeeWee® III & Steadicam

Florida Shop Manager, Ray Dettore, says local grips are taking unprecedented interest in the Super PeeWee III Dolly, thanks to the time and effort saved by its unique XOX Head which moves easily into four different positions, high to low, without removing the camera. "More and more people who are using the XOX Head love it, especially with the quick release pins", Dettore says. "The head makes the dolly more versatile than anything else on the market."

PeeWee® III during its Crane and Dolly Workshop

Chapman's full line of camera cranes, dollies, remote arms, bases, and pedestals were demonstrated during Chapman's Crane and Dolly Workshop at the Orlando Production Center last October.  Chapman Personnel showcased their entire line of dollies, emphasizing new features of the Super PeeWee III.  Kirsten Fischer, of Orlando's Flying Tigers Crew, was also on hand to demonstrate Steadicam techniques, with emphasis on specialty shots obtained when used in combination with Chapman's Cranes and Dollies.  For information or to be placed on the list for our next workshop, please contact Anna Zaccardo at (888) 33 STAGE.
