Maintenance Tips

By Frank Requena, Chapman Technician

Ever wonder what that Hybrid Plastic Bag is for???   Frank Requena is here to take us through a step-by-step process showing us what the plastic bag accessory is for.

The Hybrid Plastic Bag setup allows the camera head mount to be converted from the normal position (photo 1) to a position which allows the camera to be mounted vertically pointing either upwards or downwards (photo 2).  The plastic bag setup comes with 1 washer, 1 allen wrench, and 2 short allen bolts (photo 3).  The process begins by taking off the Hybrid L Nose Plate and resetting it in the upward position (photo 4). Then we take only one of the long bolts and put it through the bottom hole.  The hole in the center of the leveling head plate, which allows the bolt that secures the leveling head to pass through, prevents us from using the second long bolt.  This is where we need to use the smaller bolts.  The allen wrench is then used to tighten the bolts.   Next comes the washer.  This is put on the bolt that receives the Mitchell Head Mount.  The washer is necessary to give the leveling head perfect clearance to be mounted to the leveling plate (photo 5).  If you have any further questions, feel free to call us for assistance.

The second Hybrid accessory I'd like to mention is the Hybrid Battery Plate.  This accessory allows the camera battery to be conveniently placed during production as seen in photo 6.  For more maintenance tips, feel free to call any one of our Chapman / Leonard Technicians for help on maintenance, set up, or for a demonstration of any of our products.  Chapman/Leonard's toll free numbers are (888) 883 6559--WEST COAST OFFICE or (888) 337 8243--EAST COAST OFFICE.
